In the 14th and 15th centuries the city of Seville had become a major trading centre and its economy was booming. At the turn of the 15th century the decision was taken to build a monument that would truly reflect the city’s riches and power and the plans for the largest Cathedral in the world came into existence. Make your way around this enormous landmark and admire the intricate sculptures and towering pillars at every turn. Learn the story of the famous stuffed crocodile that hangs from the ceiling of the North façade and walk through the Door of Forgiveness with its beautiful terracotta statues.
End your tour by climbing to the top of the Giralda bell Tower, probably the symbol most associated with the city of Seville. From here you can look out over the stunning views of the Andalusian capital and admire the Moorish and Jewish districts from above.
