A visit to the Van Gogh Museum is a must for all visitors to Amsterdam. This modern building houses the largest collection of paintings by tortured artists anywhere in the world. You can trace the artist’s development, by comparing his work to that of his contemporaries and predecessors. Some of the great artworks you can admire here include the Potato Eaters, the Sunflowers, and some of his haunting self-portraits. The museum also houses an extensive collection of exhibitions on different subjects from 19th-century art history.
