Program details
Begin your tour at the grand old Chain Bridge, an engineering achievement in its time and the oldest bridge in Budapest. Passing by the gothic-style masterpiece that is the Parliament building, you will soon cross over the Danube River on the Margaret Bridge which also links Margaret Island to the mainland. As you head over to the western side known as Buda you can catch views of the Danube River and the waterfront.
Head up to the Castle District and enjoy a short walk where you will be shown the main attractions of the area which include the Fishermen’s Bastion and the Matthias Church. The Bastion takes its name from the guild of fishermen that was responsible for defending this stretch of the city walls in the Middle Ages. It is a viewing terrace, with many stairs and walking paths.
Continue as you drive on to Gellért Hill and the Citadel where you will take time to make the most of the beautiful views over the city before returning to the city centre, the tour will come to an end.
