Take an adventurous tour through Tuscany with an off road excursion around the Carrara marble quarries, followed by a dose of art and culture in Pisa and Lucca.

Enjoy the charming bright white cliffs of the Carrara marble quarry in a 4x4 as your expert drivers navigate you up 900m for breathtaking scenery from an off the beaten track location. Learn about ancient and modern excavation methods as the quarrymen cut the distinctive marble in front of your eyes, and pause for a tasting of the unique Lardo di Colonnata, famous from the region. Continue up to 1200m before descending under the quarry and back on the road to Pisa.
Visit one of the most renowned squares in Italy, Piazza dei Miracoli, with the world famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Included in the tour is a visit to the Cathedral and you then have free time to discover the city’s architectural treasures. We get back on the road towards the coast to Lucca, where Renaissance style architecture is plentiful. Walk along the distinctive town walls for wonderful views over rooftops, towers, churches and palaces, and visit the enchanting Piazza Anfiteatro, Guinigi Tower and St. Martin’s Cathedral. Walk along a typical street of antique shops before enjoying some free time in this delightful city. We return to Florence for the early evening.
Meeting/pick-up point: Inside Santa Maria Novella train station, in front of the pharmacy.
